Children in Nursery attend school for 3 hours in the morning or 3 hours in the afternoon. There are 5 hours and 15 minutes of teaching time each day for children in the Early Phase, Middle and Later of Phases of Learning.
We ask parents to ensure that children do not come to school before 8.30 am as from that time the playground is supervised by a member of staff.
A request to withdraw a child during a school session must be made either in writing or by personal visit. If a child is going to be absent from school, we ask parents to notify the school on the morning of the absence providing information about the reasons for this absence. If a child is absent after the registers have been closed, parents will be contacted by the school asking about the reasons for the absence.
At the start of the school day pupils gather in their respective playgrounds. At 8:43am the first bell sounds, which indicates that pupils should head towards their class line position. At 8:45am the second bell sounds which is the time when pupils are collected by their class teacher and taken into school.
Within the school day, pupils generally take part in 5 separate learning sessions, with the total opening hours per week being 32.5 hours. The official end of the school day is 3:15pm.
