School Closure Plans
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement this evening that we are entering another national lockdown and this will mean that primary schools will close except for the children of key worker and vulnerable pupils, I am contacting you to inform you that school will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday the 5th of January, to all pupils so that plans can be put in place to organise key worker and vulnerable groups and to prepare remote learning activities for pupils.
I apologise for the late notice of this announcement of school closure and recognise that this will cause some difficulties for working parents, but with the short notice of the national announcement, I do think it is important to carefully organise the remote learning and key worker offer to pupils and parents tomorrow.
School will reopen for vulnerable pupils and the pupils of key worker parents on Wednesday the 6th of January with all parents contacted on Tuesday to request key worker places in school. From Wednesday the 6th of January all pupils will be able to access remote learning activities from their class teachers, with information about this provision sent to parents via parent mail on Tuesday the 5th of January.
