Industrial Action 5th July

On Tuesday the 5th of July the NUT are taking industrial action in protest at funding for schools and the deregulation of national terms and conditions for teachers. The NUT are calling for the Government to reverse the real-terms cut in funding for schools and wants a new national negotiating framework to resolve issues around teacher workload and terms and conditions of service for teachers.

Due to the fact that some teachers will be taking industrial action, some classes will not be able to attend school on Tuesday. At present two classes are affected, with letters being handed out on Friday to all pupils in these classes. The rest of the school received an letter notifying parents that their child’s class will not be affected. Please check your child’s bag if you did not receive a letter.

A text message will be sent to parents tomorrow (Monday 4th July) to confirm that these classes will be closed on Tuesday.

If there is any change to the industrial action, we will inform parents as soon as possible.
